Who is the training for?
Great question. In a nutshell:
PAAB 1.0 - This is a REALLY GOOD foundational course for anyone starting out in Pharma marketing or communications in the Canadian arena. It's been created, and the content is delivered, by PAAB Reviewers, so it covers all the essentials. We know if someone has gone through this course, watched the videos and completed all the quizzes, then they have a good foundation. It's for those who need to learn the code before they start working on files.
PAAB 2.0 - This course is for those who need to know how to apply the code, and want to practice applying it to their advertising pieces. Participants have the foundational knowledge, they have been working on files and seen comments from PAAB and are now looking for more nuanced.
PAAB 3.0 This is for people who have experience working with PAAB, know frequently used code sections and are looking for example of nuanced applications of the code. -
How long does it take to complete the course?
PAAB 1.0 The access to the course is 12 weeks, but the actual course content, i.e. watching training videos, completing quizzes, reading pdfs and links, takes 8 to 10 hours to consume. On average, we tend to see people complete the course in about 4 weeks (though they still have access to the content for a further 8 weeks).
PAAB 2.0 (nb this course takes longer as the training videos are longer and the case studies to review take longer) The access to the course is 12 weeks, but the actual course content, i.e. watching training videos, completing quizzes, reading pdfs and links, takes approx 16 hours to consume. On average, we tend to see people complete the course in about 6 weeks (though they still have access to the content for a further 6 weeks).
PAAB 3.0 This is a one day face-to-face workshop, so plan for 1 day out of the office. -
What is the 3.0 live workshop format?
These sessions are being run very differently to the didactic training events in the past. There is no quiet absorption of information. The entire workshop will be dedicated to the attendees collaborating with those at their respective tables to complete cases. Those cases will then be discussed by the facilitator.

In-house training versus an online training course as an introduction
If your team needs to just know of PAAB - rather than work with PAAB - then you can consider the virtual in-house bespoke course. It's a light intro and would be a good overview to the work PAAB does.
However if your team is working in Pharma advertising in Canada, then we recommend the online 1.0 course; the PAAB Reviewers created this course and we know it covers all the fundamentals in detail. -
I would like to speak to someone about the training courses, how do I get in touch?
Please email [email protected] and we'll direct your query to the correct person in PAAB.
